The System
System Principle 2 of 3
Action Planning - Continuous Improvement
In a perfect world all your performance indicators would be on plan, all intermediate level objectives would be met and so would the highest level objective of the organisation. In practice this may not happen (!). For life in the real world we have action planning.
Within Escendency you can create and attach an action plan to any entity to bring about an improvement in its condition. This could be a performance indicator, project, objective, post, individual (e.g. training) or even another action plan.
The status of the action plan (e.g. draft, accepted, progress towards completion) is monitored in real-time by the system.
To bring about continuous improvement the sequence within Escendency goes as follows:
- Select a performance indicator or other entity to improve.
- Plan an action to improve its condition and attach the plan.
- Do the action plan and monitor its progress.
- Check the results.
- Act: has the condition improved?
- Yes? Continue and reinforce until target is achieved.
- No? Re-plan by modifying or creating new action plan(s).
